Pennyworth bidder guide
Archer’s quick walkthrough shows how to open the full listing, review every actual photo, read the condition, bid safely and set a sealed maximum.
Register free. You must be at least 18. Create your account with your own details and complete the required account steps. No card is needed to sign up.
Bid live, or set a max. Bid one tap at a time, or set a sealed maximum once and we bid for you, only as much as needed. Your maximum is not displayed to other bidders, sellers or staff screens. Bids, including maximum bids, are binding; your maximum excludes added premium, applicable tax and other charges. On auction lots with Claim It, you can take the item at its posted price while the sale’s Claim It rule keeps it open. Each sale states its rule on the auction floor and on every lot page: until the first bid, or, where expressly permitted by the applicable sale terms, until bidding reaches the Claim It price. Completing Claim It commits you to buy at the posted price plus the applicable auction charges. Once bidding retires the offer, it never returns for that offering, and the auction continues under market control.
Closing night. Lots close one after another on a staggered clock. Under house defaults, a qualifying bid in the final 5 minutes moves closing to 5 minutes after that bid if that is later. Check the lot’s displayed clock and closing rules. Follow the lot and My bids; alert delivery and timing are not guaranteed.
Win & pick up. Your itemized invoice records the amount due. Except for office-approved cash buyers, payment is due at close, with automatic card collection at or after close under the sale terms. Check your invoice for the actual payment result. Except for office-approved cash buyers, a card is needed before your first bid. Stripe keeps the card; Pennyworth does not store full card numbers. Approved cash buyers pay in full no later than pickup. Follow your invoice’s pickup deadline; payment and release checks must be complete before collection.
BidHarbor has two doors and one account. The lot page always tells you which one you are standing at.
Bidding lots are won by bidding. Each closes on the sale’s staggered clock, a qualifying late bid extends that lot, and the buyer’s premium and applicable sales tax shown on the lot are added to the hammer price. Claim It, where offered, takes the lot at its posted price while the sale’s rule keeps it open (until the first bid, or, where expressly permitted by the applicable sale terms, until bidding reaches the Claim It price; the lot page says which), and the auction premium still applies. Auction Buy Now sales also offer a fixed price until a closing deadline, with the auction buyer’s premium and applicable tax shown in the purchase review.
A fixed posted price and no bidding. There is no buyer’s premium; new purchases currently support Pennyworth warehouse pickup in Buda. Review the complete total, including applicable tax, before confirming. New shipping purchases are unavailable; existing orders retain their agreed fulfillment. Market items sit in the BidHarbor Market, not on an auction floor, so nothing there has a closing clock.
Check the sale label. Auction Buy Now lots also have a fixed price, a closing time and the auction fees. BidHarbor Market products carry the Market label, with no buyer’s premium or auction countdown. Current auction catalogs are listed at Browse catalogs.
Added to the hammer price unless the auction expressly discloses a different premium. Check the lot’s purchase review and sale terms. BidHarbor Market purchases currently have no auction premium.
Applicable tax is normally calculated on the hammer price plus premium. Exemptions require office review. Lot-page totals are estimates; your itemized invoice records the amount owed.
The applicable sale terms allow charges for late pickup or an incomplete transaction, including storage, handling and administrative costs. Approved returns may also carry restocking and related charges. Read the house terms and the terms linked to your listing before committing.
Archer Tech is the Pennyworth standard for cutting-edge innovation, advanced engineering, and the deliberate use of emerging technology to push beyond conventional limits.
To say a product, platform, system, or operation uses Archer Tech means it has been designed with a forward-edge approach: combining modern software, automation, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, data, security, and original engineering to achieve capabilities that standard off-the-shelf solutions cannot provide.
Archer Tech is not simply technology in use. It is technology being advanced. Archer Tech — technology at the edge of what is possible.
The platform supports sealed maximum bids, live closing clocks and item records connecting warehouse stock to purchases. Read the individual listing for its condition, contents and documented testing; tracking an item does not guarantee its condition or completeness.

Bring any requested identification, proof of purchase and collection authorization. All amounts required for release must be paid, and account or payment holds can prevent collection. Buyers arrange loading, securing and transport. Closed-toe shoes are required; no one under 18 may enter the warehouse. Contact the office before a deadline if you need help; contacting us does not itself extend it. Missed pickup can lead to charges, forfeiture and account restrictions under the applicable terms.
Items are sold as-is, subject to the limited return provisions in the applicable sale terms and the listing’s return code. Condition labels and reference photos are not guarantees of testing or completeness. Contact the office promptly with your invoice and lot details; do not assume a refund, return or replacement is available. The item-problem FAQ explains the next step.
